by Janice Boland

Black-and-White photograph, mixed media
Standing alone
in a field of wild grasses and weeds.
The abandoned old Barn,
slowly falling into disrepair.
Its days numbered.
Then gone.
Torn down to make way for the future.
Now
only a memory,
an image from a camera.

Starting as a grade schoolteacher, then an adjunct college professor, a children’s book author, editor and art director, I now love writing for adults. I love oil painting, too. Today the only photographs I take are with my cell phone, like the old barn, my beautiful old cameras are gone.

I love this, Janice. Very provocative imagery!
