Editors’ Picks

Greetings, dear reader!
Welcome to confetti.

Our first edition of confetti was published in Spring 2021. Five years and twelve editions later, our gradual but steady progress in publishing and expanding content has left a wealth of rich poetry and prose.

In recognition of our fifth anniversary and to celebrate our eclectic contributors, I proposed we publish a special summer edition of “Editors’ Picks” using a simple process to pick favorites: browse the Table of Contents for Volumes 1 through 5 in our Archived Editions. If a piece was truly memorable, the title alone should evoke fondness. We applied this method and started making picks, and the simple process worked better than expected. Indeed, any attempt to dive deeper into making selections led to over-analysis or complications. We already knew which pieces resonated most and sifted our favorites without struggle.

After this short but certain review period, we offer our “Editors’ Picks from confetti Volumes 1–5” in a bonus Summer 2026 Edition. If you’re looking for some summer reading, we’ve picked great stories, poems and a play. Even if it’s not summer in your corner of the world, you can still enjoy them too. Whether you’re revisiting old editions as we did, or if you’re reading these pieces for the first time, we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

We’ve picked 29 pieces to reprint. There are hundreds more among the eleven editions in confetti Volumes 1–5, which you can find on our Archived Editions page, all worthy. Perhaps you too can find something memorable.

Enjoy confetti and celebrate this eclectic reminiscence!
