confetti Science Fiction Edition
For a special Summer* edition of confetti, we are seeking submissions from the Science Fiction genre.

Submit your mind-bending science fiction stories or poems to embark on a journey through uncharted galaxies, the multiverse, futuristic technologies, or thought-provoking alternate realities. Unleash your robots, AI, and aliens. Unleash your creativity and send us tales pushing the boundaries of science. Unleash your spaceships and time machines and explore the unknown.
For this edition, ONLY creative and original science fiction themed submissions will be considered. NO fan fictions, please.
We accept original works from writers for sharing on confetti without claiming exclusive publication rights.** Writers retain full copyright. This is a place to share your work.
You may send us one submission from one of the following categories:
– Short stories up to 7,000 words (1 piece per submission)
– Flash fiction up to 1,000 words (1 piece per submission)
– Microfiction pieces up to 100 words (1–3 pieces per submission)
– Poetry up to 6 pages (1–3 poems per submission)
Simultaneous submissions are allowed. Notify us immediately if your submitted piece is accepted elsewhere.
Reprints of previously published pieces are considered. Please credit where and when first published.
Prose should be double-spaced, in 12-point font (we recommend Times New Roman). Proper Manuscript Format (Shunn) is preferred.
We accept only the following document formats: .doc .docx .odt .rtf
Email your submission to westchesterwriters@somerslibrary.org with the subject “confetti SCIFI submission” and attach your document.
In the body of your email please provide:
– Type of piece (fiction, poetry, etc.)
– Word count, for prose
– Your name
– Your location
Send only one submission per edition. You may submit again after you have received a response from us. Please allow 4–5 weeks past the submission deadline for us to review your work. We may respond sooner if we can.

We are seeking digital cover art for our upcoming Sci-Fi edition.
Design considerations:
- Think ‘magazine cover’ — portrait orientation, with room for us to superimpose our confetti logo and some text.
- Science Fiction, Fantasy
- Confetti (We like a suggestion of confetti)
