Call for Submissions: Science Fiction Edition
We are pleased to announce a special edition of confetti.
Get ready to blast off into the unknown with our special Summer edition of confetti, dedicated to the Science Fiction genre! We’re seeking submissions from writers, poets, and artists who are ready to push the boundaries of science and speculation and explore the infinite possibilities of the multiverse.
Whether you’re a seasoned sci-fi author, poet or artist, we want to hear from you. Send us your mind-bending stories, poems, and flash fiction pieces and visionary art that will transport us to new worlds, alternate realities, and futuristic landscapes.
Submission Guidelines:
- Short stories up to 7,000 words (1 piece per submission)
- Flash fiction up to 1,000 words (1 piece per submission)
- Microfiction pieces up to 100 words (1–3 pieces per submission)
- Poetry up to 6 pages (1–3 poems per submission)
- Up to 2 art images per submission — image formats: .jpg .jpeg .png
What to Expect:
- We accept original works from writers and artists.
- Contributors retain full copyright.
- Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please notify us if your piece is accepted elsewhere.
- Reprints of previously published pieces are considered, with proper credit given.
How to Submit:
- Email your submission to westchesterwriters@somerslibrary.org with the subject “confetti SCIFI submission” and attach your document. Note: ONLY emails with this subject will be considered for this special edition.
- Include the type of piece, word count, your name, and location in the body of the email.
