by Caitlin O’Halloran
Last night I dreamed of a world without a moon,
but you glowed so bright
you cracked the sky
and darkness shattered.
Exploding filaments trickled down,
turning grains of sand into bits of glass.
Now I’m searching for pieces of thread
wherever I go, tying them together
to make a massive lasso,
so long that I can reach the sky.
I’ll hook myself the moon,
hold it by the string,
tie it to your wrist
so it will never float away.

Imaginative and nicely done.
Good work. Well done.
