Poetry, Prose, and Art: Community Entwined

Greetings readers!

Welcome again to confetti.

With many thanks to all who submitted their stories, poems, and art, we present Volume 4, Number 2, of confetti.

We’re proud to showcase a pluralistic range of voices, from emerging writers to established poets, and from many locations across the globe. We are grateful to everyone who sends us their art, messages, feelings, and stories.

We are featuring a distinctive poet, John Grey, a contributor of wonderful poetry since our second edition. His poems bring certain solidity, a concrete cohesion hiding underlayers of intellect, emotion, and the sublime.

We received an incredible array of artwork submissions. From photos to self-portraits, watercolors to ink renderings and hand drawings, the creativity and depth of meaning made our decision more than difficult. Our front cover is graced by “A Night in Untermeyer,” a captivating photo by another regular contributor and poetry selector, Nikkilee Kozminsky. In an effort to include more artwork, we have added a back cover employing an eclectic piece from Irina Tall, entitled, “All life is a game.”

Don’t forget to check out all our poetry and prose selections and especially the poets who provided recordings. Poetry is meant to be read aloud, and now readers can hear the unique voices of contributing poets. Look for the embedded audio console in selected poems.

A special thanks to William Teets, a featured and contributing poet who joined our poetry team as a guest selector. His insight and experience greatly shaped our poetry choices for this edition.

Also, we encourage you to comment on all selections. We’d love to hear your thoughts! Share your feedback, ask questions, and engage with our growing community using our comment feature at the bottom of each contributor’s page. Our writers, artists, and poets certainly appreciate seeing how their craft impacts this community.

From all our editors and selectors, our daring and diligent webmaster, and on behalf of Westchester Writers Workshop and the Somers Library, I would like to thank you for your submissions, your readership, and your support.

Enjoy confetti and celebrate eclectic voices!
